How to care for and clean your treasures
Extending the life of your jewelry
Congratulations on owning a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Each of our costume jewelry creations is handmade using global materials. While our pieces are crafted as costume jewelry, handling them with care will help to extend the life of your prized pieces.
Care and Wear
Remove your jewelry when showering, swimming, doing dishes or immersing in water. Chlorine and other harsh chemicals may destroy the patina and damage your piece.
Cleaning
Plated jewelry
Gold or silver plating is a process of covering base metals with a layer of gold, silver, platinum or copper. Care must be taken to ensure the plating is not removed. Caustic solutions like harsh jewelry and metal polishes can destroy the plating.
To safely clean your jewelry apply a thin later of gentle toothpaste over the metal portion of your jewelry using a soft cloth. Gently rub the soft cloth over the metal. Rinse the piece in warm water to remove the toothpaste. Dry the jewelry with a dry, soft cloth while gently buffing the piece to restore its luster.
While we do not recommend using toothpaste on the beads and stone components used in the creation of our jewelry, unless otherwise specified in the description, your piece should not be damaged using this method.
